Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Introduction
AI Exploration Atelier, Inc. ("Company", "we", "our", or "us"), the operator of Ping, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our AI assistant service.
This policy covers the Ping service as a whole: the Ping Desktop app, the iOS app, the web app, and the Ping browser extension for Google Chrome.
Information We Collect
When you connect your Google account, we access:
- Email Data - Email content, metadata (sender, recipient, subject, date), and labels for emails you interact with through Ping.
- Calendar Data - Calendar events including titles, times, locations, attendees, and descriptions.
- Account Information - Your email address for account identification.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data solely to provide and improve the user-facing features of the Ping service:
- Reading and summarizing your emails when you ask
- Sending emails on your behalf when you request
- Viewing and managing your calendar events
- Creating, updating, or deleting events as you instruct
We do not use Google user data for any of the following:
- Serving advertisements, including targeted, personalized, or retargeted advertisements
- Training, fine-tuning, or otherwise developing generalized or third-party AI/ML models
- Determining credit-worthiness or for lending purposes
- Sale or transfer to data brokers, information resellers, or any other third party for the foregoing purposes
- Building or augmenting any database, profile, or product not part of the Ping service
Data Storage, Retention & Security
- OAuth tokens — Stored encrypted at rest for as long as your Ping account is active and your Google connection has not been revoked. Tokens are deleted within 30 days of you disconnecting Ping (via your Google Account permissions page) or deleting your Ping account.
- Email and calendar content — Processed in real time to fulfill your request and not retained after the request is complete, except for short-lived caches (typically minutes, never longer than 24 hours) used to keep the assistant responsive. Caches are automatically purged on expiry.
- Operational logs — We keep minimal request metadata (timestamps, request IDs, error codes — no message bodies) for up to 30 days for debugging and abuse prevention, after which they are automatically deleted.
- Account deletion — You can request full deletion of your Ping account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@withping.ai. We complete deletion within 30 days of the request and confirm by email.
- All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS, and stored data is encrypted at rest.
- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer Google user data to any third party for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose unrelated to providing or improving the user-facing features of Ping. The only parties that receive your data are (a) the third-party services you have connected (Google, your telephony provider) and (b) the AI model provider that processes your requests, as described in Third-Party Services below. These sub-processors are bound by contractual terms limiting use of your data to providing the Ping service, and we transfer data to them solely for that purpose.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Revoke Access - Disconnect Ping from your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings.
- Data Deletion - Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
- Access - Request information about what data we have associated with your account.
SMS & Phone Numbers
When you register a phone number in Ping, your AI assistant may send and receive SMS text messages on your behalf. By providing your phone number and enabling SMS, you consent to receive text messages from Ping, including:
- Reminders and scheduling confirmations
- Replies to inbound text messages
- Account notifications
Opt-out: You can stop receiving SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your usage.
Phone number data: We store your phone number to route SMS messages to your AI assistant. We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties. Phone numbers are used solely to provide the Ping service. We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign.
For questions about SMS, contact us at support@withping.ai.
Browser Extension
The Ping Chrome extension lets the Ping agent act in your browser on your behalf when you ask it to complete a task that requires the web — for example, booking a reservation, filling out a form, pulling data from a site, or downloading a file. The extension is a supporting component of the Ping Desktop app and has no standalone functionality.
- What it accesses: When you initiate a task, the extension reads the contents of the page you have asked Ping to work with (visible text, forms, structure) and can perform clicks, typing, navigation, and downloads on that page the same way you would.
- Where data goes: Page content read by the extension is sent only to the Ping Desktop app running on your own computer over a local secure channel (Chrome native messaging). Ping Desktop forwards the portions of that content needed to complete your task to the AI model provider described in Third-Party Services below.
- When it is active: The extension only reads or modifies pages when you have explicitly asked Ping to work on a tab. It does not run in the background, collect browsing history, or log activity on pages you have not asked it to help with.
- Downloads: When a task you asked for involves saving a file (receipts, exported data, generated documents), the file is saved to your normal Chrome downloads folder. The extension never uploads or redirects downloaded files elsewhere.
- Telemetry: The extension itself does not collect analytics or usage telemetry. It has no remote endpoint of its own — its only network activity is the local native-messaging channel to the Ping Desktop app on the same machine.
Third-Party Services
Ping uses Google APIs to access your Gmail and Google Calendar. Your use of these services is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
To understand and respond to your requests, Ping sends the specific content needed to complete a task (email excerpts, calendar events, or page content you asked Ping to work on) to the AI model provider powering the assistant. We currently use Anthropic as our model provider; their handling is governed by their privacy policy. Model providers process this data solely to generate the response to your request. Our AI providers do not train their AI models on the data we send them — this is guaranteed by the API terms under which we access them (for example, Anthropic's commercial API terms prohibit using customer inputs or outputs to train models).
Google API Services User Data Policy — Limited Use
Ping's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We only use Google user data to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the Ping user experience.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except (i) as necessary to provide or improve those user-facing features, (ii) to comply with applicable law, or (iii) as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with the user's notice and consent.
- We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements, including retargeted, personalized, or interest-based advertising.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your affirmative consent for specific messages, it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and used for internal operations in line with Google's policy.
- We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI/ML models.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
